Construction began on Hickory Acres in 1968 by Dickson Development and was completed during the mid-60's to the early 70's. There are 260 Single-Family Detached homes in this neighborhood of East Windsor. Hickory Acres is located in the western part of East Windsor on what was once primarily farmlands. Hickory Acres consists of ranches, split-levels and colonial style homes that feature three to five bedrooms and two to three baths.
Part of this development borders Bear Brook and is known for its "duck pond" and "Lee's Turkey Farm," which was added to rolls of New Jersey's permanently preserved farmlands in 2005. A western section of this development borders "Bear Creek Park" which is 43 acres of undeveloped woodlands, a great place for bird watchers.
